Teachers Warehouse...
is a free store for public school teachers. Our mission is to serve the educational and creative needs of children in South Central Indiana by providing a unique means to transfer donated merchandise from businesses and individuals free to public school teachers for use in their classrooms and schools.
We encourage student and teacher creativity, help teachers provide basic educational tools (while saving money) and simultaneously provide an opportunity for members of the community to recycle used and surplus goods.
Meet the Board Members:
Member: Yvonne Aubin has been a teacher in MCCSC for 26.
"Twenty of those years were spent at Fairview Elementary including 7 years as Asst. Principal and 1 as Interim Principal. I am presently teaching at Binford Elementary. I am not a Rotary member.
My interest in TW began while teaching at Fairview Elementary where many students cannot afford school supplies. Teachers have always spent their personal money on providing for the students. TW is a marvelous resource for those students without financial resources. My interest continues as teaching all students is my passion."
Acting Board Sectretary: Martin "Marty" Donnelly
"I believe that education is the key factor in ensuring that our country continues its'leadership position in the global economy. No child should be hindered in their pursuit of an education because they lack the means to buy pencil or notebook or other essential supplies. Teachers Warehouse is in the business of distributing these items to children in need. My involvement in Teachers Warehouse is a function of the belief that a well run non-profit is by far the best way to significantly address the problems noted. In less than 3 years, Teachers Warehouse has demonstrated its value to the community. Going forward our organization should become the model process for engaging community resources in directly and meaningfully solving an ongoing educational issue for children in need."
